Prof. Ahmed Shehata
Prof. Ahmed Shehata Professor of Urban and Environmental Design, Department of Islamic Architecture at Umm Al-Qura University, Saudi Arabia


​Dr. Ahmed Shehata is a professor of Urban and Environmental Design since 2009 at the Department of Islamic Architecture at Umm Al-Qura University, Saudi Arabia. Dr. Shehata research interest includes smart and sustainable urbanism, environmental analysis, geographical information systems, and computer-aided design. He has participated in many research projects funded by several governmental and private organizations, many of them focusing on studding pilgrimage services and built environment of Makkah city and Al-Masha’er area. He is also a listed reviewer for many local and regional academic journals. In addition to his academic experience, Dr. Shehata has significant consulting and industrial experience. He has served as the Director of the Planning and Design Department at the University of Umm Al-Quara from 2011 to 2015. Dr. Shehata has published many peer-reviewed articles focusing on smart and sustainable aspects of urban and architecture
